Gambach plant

Gambach silica sand was formed in the Miocene, the fourth epoch of the Tertiary Period. It is extracted from both above and below the groundwater table and subsequently processed to make several basic types of quartz sand, namely G 30, G 32, G 34 and G 36.These products are available as wet or dry sand. A small portion is further refined to produce Corning sands for the foundry industry.
